Crude prices neared their lowest levels since May as investors worry that travel restrictions and delayed office reopenings will limit fuel consumption, especially the tumbling demand in China which has been hit by the delta variant. Although prices are still well above the $50 level where they started the year, their months-long climb has morphed into a reversal as Delta variant cases soar and governments respond.
