The Australian government is reviewing a 99-year lease of Darwin Port to China-based Shandong Landbridge Group based on national security concerns. Thousands of U.S. and local troops train near Darwin Port, which also handles ammunition, equipment and fuel. The port, based on the northern tip of Australia, provides strategic access to the South China Sea.
