Washington Post: Chinese firms—and African labor—are building Africa’s infrastructure

The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa reported that China has contributed about one quarter of overall $100.8 billion committed to infrastructure projects on the continent. While China rapidly builds up infrastructure across the continent, it has also hired a significant number of Africans in labor. Issues of labor rights and conditions have been raised at sites of Chinese infrastructure projects.
