On July 16, US Attorney General William Barr delivered a speech at the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum on China. Barr highlighted how China’s “Made in China 2025” plan is a threat to the United States’ leadership in technology. The Attorney General also put on notice American businesses operating in China, saying that they are at risk of IP threat and cyber crimes by doing so. Specifically, Barr called out the pharmaceutical, entertainment and technology industries for “collaborating” with China.
