The Guardian: EU parliament ‘freezes’ China trade deal over sanctions

The European parliament has voted to freeze consideration of the Comprehensive Agreement on Investment with China after reciprocal sanctions over China’s policy toward the Uyghur people. The freeze indicates a further souring of relations between the two parties, especially after the two sides agreed to the massive investment deal in December 2020.
