SCMP: European businesses express alarm over China’s anti-sanctions law that could turn companies into ‘sacrificial pawns’

A new Chinese anti-sanctions law, set to be passed on Thursday, has raised alarms for European firms over a lack of transparency. While details of the law have not yet been released, Chinese state media have reported that it is intended to give China a legal basis to retaliate against sanctions. The law comes after tit-for-tat sanctions between China and several Western countries over human rights abuses in Xinjiang.
