SCMP: China’s military modernisation has pushed Japan to develop its own stealth fighter, analysts say

Japan’s Defense Ministry has chosen a contractor to develop its first domestically designed stealth fighter. The “F-X” program, as it has been called, is part of an effort on the part of the Japanese to update their aging fleet of fighter jets in the face of China’s rapidly modernizing People’s Liberation Army.
