SCMP: China labels India, Australia, Japan supply chain plan as ‘artificial’ and ‘unfavorable’ to global economy

Beijing has criticized the Supply Chain Resilience Initiative, launched by Australia, India and Japan, as ‘artificial’ and harmful to the global economy. Australia, India and Japan first discussed the plan in July 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. While China was not explicitly mentioned, talks were launched after supply chain and accessibility issues to crucial goods at the time such as medical supplies.
