China has constructed a village of hundreds of homes near the eastern extremity of the Line of Actual Control (the boundary separating the two countries). According to a New Delhi based news channel NDTV report on Tuesday, which reviewed satellite images of the construction, the village can house thousands and is located 4.5 km within Indian claimed territory. Beijing also announced last month that it planned to dam a river that flows into India just miles from where it enters Indian territory. Experts warn that the proposed dam could negatively impact Indian water security and create potential flood zones in the Indian state of Assam.
