Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen accused China of blocking a deal with BioNTech for a delivery of COVID-19 vaccines. The statement comes after Chinese firm Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group offered Taiwan BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines, which Taiwan rejected, instead opting to purchase vaccines from original manufacturers. Although Taiwan has ordered over one million vaccines, it has only received 700,000 amid a fresh COVID-19 surge.
