In an effort to acquire COVID-19 vaccines, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez publicly considered establishing formal ties with the People’s Republic of China. Currently, Honduras is one of several Latin American countries with strong ties with the Republic of China, or Taiwan. Honduras has expressed frustration with rich countries hoarding vaccines.
