China’s factory output grew at the slowest pace in nine months as the global economy continues to reel from the coronavirus. China’s economy is expected to perform well in 2021 but this is an indication that that performance is contingent on the stability of overseas markets. “Overseas demand continued to drag down overall demand…Surveyed manufacturers highlighted fallout from domestic flare-ups of Covid-19 in the winter as well as the overseas pandemic,” said Wang Zhe, senior economist at Caixin Insight Group.
