China’s domestic air travel has effectively returned to pre-COVID-19 levels, even as the pandemic rages on around the world, paralyzing global transport rates. Boeing has raised its rolling forecast for China’s aircraft demand over the next twenty years by 6.3 percent. The total value of new airplanes needed by China through 2039 is valued at $1.4 trillion based on current list prices. The announcement follows after Boeing dropped its global 20-year predictions by 2 percent in October.
