Politico: Berlin’s €2B plan to wean off Huawei (Nokia and Ericsson too)

In an effort to pivot away from Huawei and other dominant telecommunications firms, Germany plans to launch a €2 billion initiative to fund local companies. Ultimately, Germany seeks to pursue an “open RAN” plan, where the 5G supply chain is divided among small firms to prevent the dominance of industry giants.
