Nikkei: China builds Digital Silk Road in Pakistan to Africa and Europe

The Hengtong Group, a Chinese fiber optic company, is set to complete installment of the Pakistan East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) cable, which will digitally connect Africa, Europe, and China. The cable runs from Xinjiang to Rawalpindi, Pakistan. PEACE is a part of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and marks a major milestone in economic ties between China and Pakistan.
