Market Watch: China lifts 2-child policy to 3, as demographic crisis looms

On Monday, the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party decided that it would allow married couples to have three children, up from two. In 2016, China raised its birth policy to allow couples to have two children. China’s most recent census, released last month, showed that birth rates fell for the fourth straight year despite government efforts to raise the fertility rate.
