Institutional Investor: ‘We’re Not Allowed to Comment Negatively on Anything About China’

Wall Street bankers and asset managers are self-censoring their commentary and analyses of China’s economy. While some may actually believe, China’s official growth numbers, a recent report by Avoca – discussed in this article – argues that that is not the case, and that the country is in serious financial trouble. Banker’s commentary on the report has been muted, due to a fear that saying anything negative about China will result in repercussions for their business’s international operations.
