Economic Times: China foresees threat to BRI projects amid U.S. drawdown from Afghanistan

China has pivoted to its neighbors in Central Asia to establish a “safe Silk Road” amid fears that the United States’ exit from Afghanistan may bring instability to South Asia. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Central Asian counterparts on May 12 to discuss greater multilateral cooperation, especially in infrastructure.
