China had launched a low orbit “missile” that may penetrate current defense systems, which it claims is for “peaceful” usage. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said the new technology would be used for “the benefit of mankind” whereas the US raised concern over China’s growing technological progress and its inability to defend against the hypersonic threat.
