CNN: Biden expands Trump’s list of Chinese companies banned from U.S. investment

On Thursday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order expanding an investment ban on Chinese firms alleged to have links to the People’s Liberation Army. The Trump-era rule, signed in November 2020, applied to 31 Chinese companies perceived to “directly threaten” the U.S. Biden’s new order, which goes into effect August 2, has increased the list to include 59 companies.
