BBC: Huawei’s Meng Wanzhou flies back to China after deal with US

Mon September, 2021, Age: 2 years

On Friday, the US Department of Justice dropped an extradition request for Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei, who was detained in Canada on fraud charges in December 2018 at the request of the US. She shortly boarded a flight to Shenzhen. This case, and the Chinese detention of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, shined the spotlight on rising tensions between the US and China.

Back NYT: Meng Wanzhou agreed to deal in a Brooklyn court hearing.
