BBC: Huawei takes top spot in global phone shipments for first time

Huawei became the largest seller of smartphones globally for the first time. This past quarter, Huawei sold 55.8 million smartphones, beating Samsung’s 53.7 million. This change is directly linked to increased sales domestically, in China, as Huawei’s products have experienced greater push back abroad as a result of greater U.S. trade restrictions.
