BBC: China bans BBC World News from broadcasting

China’s State Film, TV and Radio Administration announced that BBC World News would not be allowed to broadcast in China after criticism of its reporting on COVID-19 and . The decision follows British regulator Ofcom’s decision to stop China Global Television Network (CGTN) from broadcasting in the U.K., citing that it is not possible to verify CGTN’s independence from the Chinese Communist Party, a violation of broadcasting rules.
